Romance and luxury
by biaxinle at Citysearch
There is no equal. You can look high and low but to have the bed and breakfast intimacy taken to this level of American loyalty in an old castle like building is not to be found anywhere.
- Pros: Impeccable Service, Luxury, The little touches
- Cons: Cost, Average bathrooms
A seasonal treat in the heart of the Berkshires.

The Scene
Nestled on 100 acres of meticulously landscaped lawns and woods, this Tudor-style, castle-like manor thrusts its ivy-covered turrets into the sky. It unites the grandeur of a classic country retreat with modern-day comforts. Children under 12 are not allowed, which adds to the calming air. The property is open from May to November.
The Details
Rooms in the main house feature Victorian-style bathrooms, antique four-poster beds and plush chaise lounges, as well as personal touches such as fresh flowers. Some also offer fireplaces. The nearby Carriage House rooms are quaint and comfortable, but not as grandiose as the others. Leisure pursuits right on the grounds include croquet, shuffleboard and swimming. There are also tennis courts, a fitness facility and nature trails.
