At home with America's homeliest painter.

In Short
Visitors come to see the Saturday Evening Post covers, though the museum usually shows about 50 of its 322. Since moving from "downtown" Stockbridge, the museum has space to show other artists' illustrations, too--art from the Dick and Jane reading primers and prints by Currier & Ives, in recent years. But fear not: The skinny guy with the pipe still dominates, and his vision of wholesome small-town life shows no sign of fading.

Rockwell is Americana

by westcoastdeedee7

Norman Rockwell is a true American artist. His works are as enjoyable now as when he painted them. Want to feel proud to be an American- visit this museum.

  • Pros: collection
  • Cons: small museum space
