A posh resort environment with plenty of amenities.

The Scene
Upon approaching the main building, you'll feel as if you've been transported back in time to 16th-century Tuscany. In fact, this palace-like property was erected in 1893. It caters to the resort and spa tourists that flock to the Berkshires, with on-site activities such as tennis, a heated outdoor swimming pool and in-room massages.
The Details
While the rooms are fairly small, they are brightly decorated and offer views of the beautiful courtyard and park. Suites are exquisite and expensive--they feature meticulous touches such as carved molding, as well as fireplaces, sitting areas and large bathrooms with high ceilings. The grounds are beautiful and the restaurant is tops, serving renowned French cuisine. Bicycles can be rented for those who want to explore this lovely rural area.
