Disappointed - Nothing special. I was looking forward to a nice treat for the Easter Holiday while staying in Lenox for the weekend. I think they could do a better job here at making first time visitors feel welcome and pampered. When I arrived I was offered nothing but a clip board to fill out. No one asked if I would like water or coffee, tea. I had an express pedicure with no massage for $40 excluding tip. The polish was old and goopy and was still tacky 6 hours after the pedicure.I wanted to like this spa, but there was nothing memorable about this place. When I left I felt as if I had wasted my money. I will have to redo the polish and there was no relaxing for me personally with small children running around. When I go to a spa I want to leave more relaxed than when I arrived. For that reason I felt it was overpriced. I don't mind paying for something special, but this was not even as good as the quick walk-in place where I go in Boston for $25. Perhaps they should advertise it as a family place and that would warn people off who are trying to get a break from their children or who just want a bit of serenity, OR they should offer some kind of babysitting or play area away from the clients. I was expecting a spa-like atmosphere and something special and found neither. I was disappointed.

A great escape for a busy mom!!!!. I am a busy mom of a 2 year old and had never had a weekend away. So, my husband and I booked a trip to the Berkshires!!! It was my first time to the area and I needed a spa day. So, I found Essencials day spa online and decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did!!! I booked a 50 min massage and a 30 min facial for a Saturday afternoon. When I arrived for my appointment decided that I wanted to add a pedicure to my spa day and they luckily had an opening right after my facial appointment. The massage was done by Shauna and she was incredible. It was a deep tissue massage, one that I so desperately needed. It was one of the best massages I have ever received, she tailored it to my needs and was very accommodating. Next was my facial with Tina which was very relaxing, I only wish I had booked the hour facial instead. The spa is beautiful, it is dimly lit with candles and waterfalls...Very relaxing. It is in the back of the salon behind closed doors which made it a very quiet spa. I truly felt like I was being catered to and everyone was so friendly!!! Lastly, I had my pedicure which was fabulous!!! It was the perfect ending to a wonderful day. Oh, and when you have 3 services they provide a spa lunch from a gourmet deli. So, while I was having my pedicure I enjoyed a delicious wrap. I then went and had a cup of tea by the fireplace while my nails were drying. I honestly felt like a celebrity for a day and didn't want the day to end. I will most definitely be returning to this spa someday soon...It is a must if you are visiting the area. It was voted the best day spa in the Berkshires in 2008 and they have my vote for 2009!!!!

an exhilerating sensory celebration!!. Essencials Day Spa has an incredible staff who cater to you every whim. The treatments were truly like escaping to another world!
