Tips for Frankie's Ristorante Italiano

Tip Changed by Server on Credit Card Receipt.
I have eaten at Frankie's restaurant several times, the last time being 25-October (Saturday). There were five of us and the food was, as usual, excellent, however the service throughout the meal was only average - one appetizer was completely missing (and the server never came back so we could ask for it). I travel extensively both nationally and internationally on business and I was appalled at what happened next. The server brought the signed credit card receipt back to the table and suggested I change the tip amount, as it was inadequate. I did not change the tip on the receipt, because I tipped about 15% on the food, as it was only adequate service, and 10% on the alcohol (which is a standard practice). I have always been under the impression that a 20% tip was given for excellent service only.
After looking at what Frankie's restaurant submitted for a receipt, the amount was higher than what I had put on there, and the credit card company informed me the tip was higher than what I had written. While for a couple bucks its not worth much aggravation, the fact that someone did this is completely inappropriate and has quite obviously deterred us from stepping foot in this restaurant again.

Fresh clams, resonable, local's favorite.
We dined there for the first time after Boston Symphony's summer concert in Tanglewood.
The place was almost full with local people.
Staff was friendly and wine & food was great.
We added the restaurant on our list and we will be back when we visit Tanglewood.

Absolutely Wonderful. The food was incredible! Everything on the menu sounded soo good that it was literally impossible to choose one dinner! The aptmosphere as well was great!

Never on Tuesday. Excellent continental menu, but the specials are often better! Eclectic wine list well priced. Helpful wait staff. Never an inferior meal.
