bland overpriced food. We were staying at the porches and only went because they endorsed this restaurant. The olives were great and the crab cake appetizer was good but the meals were terrible. My wife got the special haddock which was bland and I got the paella which tasted bland like rice and peas. We never salt our meals but added salt and pepper to flavor things a little. The waitress told the maitre'd (also the chefs wife) but she seemed unconcerned and figured "who cares, they won't be back". We were more dissappointed that the Porches would recommend and endorse this place. A sour note to a great weekend. $$$ for bland food. Maybe a little saffron is too expensive to add to the meal. We had an incredible meal the night before at Mezzes and this just stunk. Too bad and shame on them.

Dissapointing. Having booked a weekend in North Adams, my boyfriend and I were really excited to try this restaurant. Upon our arrival the atmosphere was beautiful and the menu looked fantastic and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, nothing tasted quite as good as it looked or sounded.

OUr beverages came promptly but the beer my boyfriend ordered was skunked. Then came the starters. He ordered potato leek soup which was very nice but the goat cheese tart that I ordered was bland and tasteless. Finally, our dinners were not much better. We ordered viner schnitzel and a chicken breast with risotto and mushrooms. The viner schnitzel was ok, but the chicken dish was really watery and bland.The mushrooms tasted as though they had been boiled and had no flavor at all.

Not sure if we just unlucky, ordering all the wrong things or maybe it was just a bad night... I probably wouldn't try it again to find out.
