Upscale, rustic Italian cooking that's artfully prepared..
In Short
Large plate-glass windows admit light into a wood-floored, exposed-brick room just on the slick side of shabby-chic. The bar running along the right-hand side is fit for diners or drinkers, and the exposed kitchen in the back shows off its wood-fired oven. The menu features seafood, meat and pasta dishes. Favorites include the fish specials, often grilled and served with a lemon wedge. A lobster risotto is sweet without being cloying, while gnocchi is light enough to float.
Hey Billy its your cousin Tyler. Hey hows it going man? Have not seen you in awhile. Well I absolutey love your restuarant, I believe its the best place in the whole world. Hope to talk to you soon
Very disappointing. Maybe an "off night.". Best in the Berkshires?! Not even best of Railroad Street. Had dinner there 10/03 and was really disappointed. Indifferent service. Bread with oil was unimaginative and tasteless. My "Heirloom" Caprese salad came with cherry tomatoes and hardly any balsamic vinegar. Bucatini alla bolognese was leaden and lacked flavor and plate appeal. When asked which of the 20 or so grappas on the menu tended to be the mildest, the server said that they were all pretty much the same! A real pet peeve of mine is a server with no opinion/knowledge of the menu and was I surprised to find this at so well reviewed a restaurant. Spend your restaurant dollar elsewhere in GB. There are many very good places to choose from.
Consistently wonderful food, artfully prepared.
We are so lucky to have Verdura and its wonderful bar, Due, definitely the best kitchen in the Great Barrington, and the scene for hipster locals. If all the other restaurants in the area (except, perhaps, for Helsinki) disappeared, I wouldn't care.
I only wish they had a more varied selection of desserts (all divine, but heavy on the dairy) and kept the kitchen open later (9:00 is just a tad too early for this crowd).
absolutely enchanting. My boyfriend and I drove 2.5 hours from Providence, RI last night to dine at the best Italian restaurant i have ever been to. MUST TRY the aged balsamic martini WITH the antipasti. the ambience is warm and romantic, the service impecable yet unpretensious, the food a testament to culinary genius and perfection, and the prices directy reflect the superior quality of the ingredients. This is my favorite restaurant, I am moving to the Berkshires to be close to it.
Best Food Ever. Verdura is literally the best restaurant I have ever been to within the United States. Everytime I have gone there I have had an incredible meal with good service (except on super busy nights). Every dish is unique and scrumptious! My goal is to try every dish! Due, an tapas extension of Verdura's is even better! Adding more dishes to the already superb Verdura menu. Wow, I can taste the goodness now!
SO amazing. Verdura is an amazing resteraunt in the midst of a beautiful old fashioned town. Eat at Verdura because of the amazing service and the amazing owner/chef and the wonderful food served there.
